Tom Tykwer - Unimaginable Ambitions


Heaven (2000)

Creatively ambitious, passionate story teller, the perfectionist - Tom Tykwer, is a German film maker, screenwriter and composer worldly renowned for his extraordinary creative works. He started his career as a filmmaker at the age of eleven.
"Heaven" is a beautiful film directed by Tom Tykwer, for the screen play written by Krzysztof Kieslowski, which unfortunately Kieslowski couldn't complete. This is a simple story involving an English teacher at a local school and a policemen. It is truly a visual experience than to speak about this movie. Its a poem, love story, suspense thriller, everything you could imagine, a true creative art work. Cinematography takes you to the landscapes of Tuscany. Beautiful visuals and remarkable acting performances of Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribsi makes everybody breathless. Tom Tykwer's direction is exceptional and he is a very talented film director.





Run Lola Run (1998)

Written and directed by Tom Tykwer, "Run Lola Run" is a story that follows a women who has to obtain 100,000 Deutsche Mark in 20 minutes to save her boyfriend's life. The story is told in three different "run" sequences. The beauty of making a film, which can enthrall everybody, is a magnificent talent of Tom Tykwer. Direction and cinematography is superb. He has composed the soundtrack for this movie which is also remarkable.





Perfume: The Story of a Murderer(2006)

Story set in 18th Century France, "Perfume:The Story of a Murderer" tells the story of the character named Jean-Baptiste, an olfactory genius, and his quench to make the ultimate perfume. Breathtaking cinematography and music. Tom Tykwer has composed the soundtrack and is incredible. Most of the music was composed before the filming, which he says helped him to visualize and create scenes more efficiently. Music plays an important part in this movie, sometimes subtle, but that is the beauty of this film. Tom Tykwer has created a visually stunning experience, which is remarkable and cannot be compared. Beautiful sets, costumes, colour contrast, excellent  performances, everything contribute to this film and it is a perfect film from Tom Tykwer.
