Fatih Akin - Always Delightful


The Edge of Heaven (2007)

Fatih Akin is a Turkish born German filmmaker who is immensely creative and carefully crafts everything beautiful in his films. Performances, cinematography and music score of his films are mostly appreciated. He always brings something special or a surprise each time in his films. He has won many awards since the start of his film career.
"The Edge of Heaven" is a powerful screenplay of a father and son, and two mother-daughters as all six travels from one country to the other for various reasons. Cinematography is extremely beautiful. Each shots have been carefully crafted. Performances are flawless and stunning. Fatih Akin won 'Best Screenplay Award' at Cannes Film Festival and also won awards at Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for Best director, Best Editing, Best supporting actor and actress and a special jury award.






Head-On (2004)

"Head-On" is another brilliant movie from Fatih Akin which shows his creative energy. It is a love story which is more fresh and original. The story is about two persons Sibel and Cahit who are happily married but lives separately from each other due to conflicts. It is a film with much reality than fiction. Music, cinematography and performances are heart touching. Special credits to Birol Ünel and Sibel Kekilli for their extraordinary performances. This film is a masterpiece work of Fatih Akin. It has won 'Best Film' at European Film Awards and also many other awards. It is truly a delight and worth watching.






In July (2000)

"In July" is a road movie directed by Fatih Akin which starts from Germany and ends in Istanbul. Beautiful visuals which are remarkable and also shows beautiful views of Bavaria, Budapest, and Romania. Performance of Moritz Bleibtreu who plays Daniel as a young school teacher in Hamburg is superb. All performances in the film are remarkable. Cinematography of the film should be really appreciated. Fatih Akin is without doubt a creative writer as well as a film director.
