Lucía y el sexo (2001)
Julio Médem is a Spanish film writer and director. His passion for cinema started at the very young age and would use his father's Super 8 camera for shooting. After graduating in Medicine and General Surgery he worked as a film critic, screenwriter, assistant director and editor.
"Lucía y el sexo" is a beautiful art work from Julio Médem. Its about Lucia's boyfriend a writer, his imaginations, and fantasies. The film leaves with more interesting clues that viewers can build up their own story with their imagination. The cinematography is great and plays an important part in this movie. Performances of Paz Vega (Lucia) is remarkable. Beautiful locations and mix of colours make it really a visual treat for everyone.
The Lovers of the Arctic Circle (1998)
"The Lovers of the Arctic Circle" is an extra quality film from Julio Médem which deals with love, destiny, and coincidences in life. The plot is sometimes confusing through the arrangements of incidents and moments. Beautiful cinematography, makes it worth watching again and again. The screenplay is done in a very tricky way, and that is one of the interesting point of the movie. Surely, this movie is Julio Médem's masterpiece work. One of the most beautiful film with great cinematography and detailed character study, always worth watching.
Earth or "Tierra" (1996)
"Earth"or "Tierra" is yet another beautiful story about love involving an 'angel' and two women in a small town, who comes to rid of tiny grubs in the soil which caused earthy taste to their wine industry. Again great cinematography, extra ordinary acting performances, unique direction, all makes it a worth watching. Julio Médem is truly a creative person and his works are extremely terrific.
